Letter to the Editor
Bill Clinton a 'self-serving,' 'amoral' former president
A great president once said, "I hope I shall always possess firmness and virtue enough to maintain what I consider the most enviable of all titles, the character of an honest man." I can assure the Collegian editorial board and the other Clintonites on campus that William Jefferson Clinton did not utter those great words. The damage that man has done to America reaches far beyond the shortcomings you listed. Your editorial labeled him "human." I and millions of other Americans across the nation label him amoral and self-serving. Thanks to Bill's "leadership," America is less safe militarily and strategically than when he took office, the morale of the military is at rock bottom, lying and adultery have become acceptable in the highest office in the land, our values are weaker and more fragile than ever, and national pride is at its lowest ever. I failed to see those accomplishments listed in your glowing appraisal of Bill Clinton's performance. Clinton took credit when he did not deserve it, apportioned blame where it was not due, and often chose conflict over compromise when doing the nation's work. The eviction of the Clintons and the subsequent delousing of the White House is long overdue. Goodbye, Bill, and good riddance.
