Mandatory diversity course would only add to bigotry

I'd like to know if anyone else has written to express indignation at the prospect of having to enroll in a diversity course that has absolutely no bearing on the reason most students attend the university, which is to get the education necessary to make a living.

Is it any wonder that there are "racially motivated incidents" when the agenda of one group is forced on everyone?

What is the purpose of these "mandatory" diversity courses anyway? Are they going to make a compassionate, fair-minded citizen out of a hateful bigot? I don't think so. You only reinforce his resolve to hate.

I have no objection to Penn State offering these diversity courses, but I do wholeheartedly object to them being mandatory.
