Letter to the Editor
Intoxication should not be part of student experience

Is there really such a thing to "drink smart?" Thousands of people are killed or injured each year by people who "drink smart."

Why don't we copy Budweiser's phrase of "Think when you drink" or "Know when to say when."

Why not "Let's not drink at all?"

It is time we take a firm stand to get our students in compliance with the alcohol policy on campus and in the streets of State College.

Drinking and intoxication should not be part of the Penn State experience.

Let's not lower our standards and say only 30 percent don't drink smart. Why don't we strive for 70 percent who don't drink at all?

What public good does drinking serve?
