Letter to the Editor
Who does she think she is anyhow?

Ashcroft's critics ignoring many of Reno's downfalls.

In light of the many arguments I have heard on why John Ashcroft should not be the next attorney general, I find it amusing these same people are ignoring one of the most corrupt attorneys general this country has ever seen.

I'm talking about present Attorney General Janet Reno.

For the past eight years, Janet Reno has continuously abused her powers give to her by the Constitution.

Not only did she lie under oath about her knowledge concerning Vice President Al Gore's illegal fundraising, but she also refused to appoint an independent counsel to investigate these charges.

Reno has also failed to comply with several subpoenas sent out by the House Judiciary committee.

Reno's streak of corruption does not end here. Take the disaster that happened a few years ago in a town called Waco.

That's where more than 80 people died at ranch that the Department of Justice laid siege on.

And let's not even talk about the Elian Gonzales case.

Let's not forget that Janet Reno sent in federal officers with fully automatic machine guns to abduct a 6-year-old boy and completely threw the Fourth Amendment out the door.

These few examples are only the tip of the iceberg.

So before you start to point the finger at a cabinet appointee who upholds the law, look first at the present member who abuses it!
