Today's
University Park forecast
Clouds will be persistent today as an upper
low over the Great Lakes and trailing cold front slowly
slides eastward. Then for Wednesday in the wake of the
front, expect slighly colder conditions and a return to
sunshine. The remainder of the week will yield a mixture
of sun and clouds before a possible wintry weather
scenario for the weekend. --Prepared by the Campus Weather Service

Highlight
For the snow lovers that are mourning
the loss of snow cover around Happy Valley, take solace
in the fact that heavy snow and record cold is being felt
in Mongolia and Northern China. Although six foot drifts
and temperatures of 40 degrees below zero seem
impressive, 23 people and 5,000 animals fell victim to
the blizzard. The region has had its share of problems
during the past two years aside from this storm,
including record flooding and parching droughts.
