Occasional drizzle will persist today as a

Appalachian mountains. A weak cold front will pass
through Happy Valley tomorrow bringing with it slightly
cooler air, changing the drizzle to snow flurries. This

Weather
Highlight
Any keen sky observer in State College
noted a hazy mist or smog throughout the weekend. This
haze formed as progressively warmer air streamed over
cooler air that had settled in Happy Valley. This caused
industrial pollution and car exhaust, normally dispersed
into the atmosphere, to be trapped near the surface.
During the day, the sun warms the cool air in the valley,
allowing these pollutants to rise gradually.
