Rescuers rushed a woman to a trauma center by helicopter yesterday evening after one car smashed into another at the intersection of North Atherton Street and Pollock Road.

With activities ranging from films about King to a bell ringing ceremony, Penn State is bringing together a day filled with diverse events, tailored to attract people from all backgrounds.

Damon's Restaurant, 1031 East College Ave., and several other businesses are co-defendants in a civil suit that alleges they are partially responsible for the drunken driving accident that killed Penn State librarian Kim Fisher last January.

While some people head south to avoid the freezing temperatures, more than 100 students from around the world came to State College this month for the frozen dessert.

From quiet hours and candles to the more extreme drinking, drugs, and even suicide, Resident Assistants at Penn State are trained to be prepared for anything.

Members of the community gathered yesterday to reminisce and capture the history of State College with a little Grace.

In honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the University Office of International Programs International Speakers Series will present Koby Koomson at 1:45 p.m. today.

The State College Police Department received at least three reports last week of apartment and house thefts that occurred during the semester break.

In a game the Penn State men's basketball team needed to win, it was Northwestern that came out of the locker room and played with urgency.

After losing its last two games on the road, the Penn State women's basketball team were energized and intense back in The Bryce Jordan Center yesterday, which meant Indiana was in for a long game.
Portland can smile again with win

The only thing that seemed to be able to keep up with the falling records Saturday at the Multi-Sport Complex was the mounting lead the home team continued to pile up.

It was clear the Penn State wrestling team needed a spark after losing two matches last weekend and trailing No. 10 Lehigh 13-9, moving into the heart of the Mountain Hawks lineup.

On an intense day of wrestling action, Penn State freshman Aaron Wright contributed the most stunning upset of the match. He helped orchestrate a comeback that sent the Nittany Lions to victory over No. 10 Lehigh.
Injured Moore misses out on victory

Last year at the NCAA Championships, the Penn State men's gymnastics team captured its 10th national championship with a nearly perfect performance on the pommel horse.

After a sixth place finish Jan. 6 at the Super Six Challenge to open its season, the Penn State women's gymnastics team was ready to get down to business.

The Penn State men's volleyball team overcame a heartbreaking first game loss and defeated Ohio State in four games at Rec Hall Saturday night.
