A Penn State English professor told the State College Police Department Wednesday that he found his name on a hit list on a World Wide Web site. The professor told police the site was a Hindutva Web site, which he believed could be an extremist Muslim militant group based in India, police said. The victim believed his name was posted in response to a book he published, police said.
Sgt. John Wilson, community relations director for State College police, would not release the site's address but said the case is being handed over to federal authorities.
