Liberals make inaccurate charges against Ashcroft

I am sick and tired of the knuckle-headed liberals on this campus and around the country bashing a man groundlessly simply because he happens to be a conservative.

The charges made by Jared Cram against John Ashcroft are completely ridiculous. He states that Ashcroft has been a "divider of people in every arena," yet gives no factual evidence other than the Democratic party line to back it up.

The facts are that as a senator, Ashcroft affirmed almost all of the black judges that came up for a vote during his Senate term. His opposition to Ronnie White was based on White's pro-criminal ideology, not the color of his skin.

To cry racism just because a white man opposes the appointment of a black man — especially when that same white man has approved an overwhelming majority of black judges in his career — is absurd.

As for holding up a picture of an aborted fetus, ask yourself: Is that so offensive because of its graphic nature, or is it offensive because liberals don't want to face up to the brutality of abortion?

And I seriously doubt that John Ashcroft is capable of dividing people on the abortion issue any more than they already are. And I, along with others, I'm sure, would like to know the names of some of these white supremacist magazines that Cram claims John Ashcroft has given interviews for.

Also, and much more importantly, I would like to know what he said in these magazines that Cram finds to be offensive, because simply giving interviews is not a crime.

I think that liberals like Mr. Cram should look at the facts and simply realize that he and other Democrats should not start making outrageous and groundless charges about someone just because of an ideological difference.

These attacks serve no real purpose except to tear down the good, strong Republican leaders who they fear so much.
