Today's
University Park forecast
Temperatures will warm to slightly above normal levels
this week in Happy Valley, after an abnormally cold
winter break. A system will move through the region early
in the week, causing scattered flurries today and
tonight. Once this system passes, high pressure should
keep the rest of the week dry.--Prepared by

Highlight
This past December was one of the
coldest on record in Happy Valley. The month ended with a
mean temperature of just under 23 degrees Fahrenheit,
which is a little more than seven degrees below normal.
The last time State College saw such a cold December was
in 1989, which was actually the coldest December in
recorded history. That year, the average temperature in
December did not even make it out of the teens!
