this week in Happy Valley, after an abnormally cold
winter break. A system will move through the region early
in the week, causing scattered flurries today and
tonight. Once this system passes, high pressure should

Weather Highlight
This past December was one of the coldest on record in Happy Valley. The month ended with a mean temperature of just under 23 degrees Fahrenheit, which is a little more than seven degrees below normal. The last time State College saw such a cold December was in 1989, which was actually the coldest December in recorded history. That year, the average temperature in December did not even make it out of the teens!
