On Dec. 9, while shopping in downtown State College, my 5-year-old daughter became separated from our family. Thankfully and miraculously, after calmly wandering two blocks up College Avenue, she found two students who took time to ask her, "Are you lost, little girl?"

Somehow, someway, our paths crossed and my little girl was back with her family. In the post-panic relief and celebration, I neglected to find out the names of the young couple that found my daughter and led her back to us.

That was an incident that no one should experience.
