A 22 year-old woman was robbed and assaulted at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, as she left her apartment complex located at the 500 block of Vairo Boulevard, in Patton Township.
Police said the woman left her building and was attacked by two men wearing all black and stockings over their heads. The victim was grabbed, punched and thrown to the ground. As she was on the ground, the victim defended herself by biting the fingers of one of her attackers. The attackers took one piece of jewelry that she was wearing and fled toward Marjorie Mae Street, police said.
Det. John Petrick said the woman sustained facial bruising around the eyes and jaw from the attack and was taken by Alpha Ambulance Inc. to Centre Community Hospital. The woman told police that she did not recognize her attackers. Anyone with information is asked to call Patton Township Police Department at 234-0723.
