Two of the most anticipated ski flicks of the year, Ski Movie and The Game, along with some of the best skiers in the world are coming Oct. 19 to the Crowbar, 420 E. College Ave.
The stars of these movies are some of the most recognizable names and personalities in the skiing world.
These icons will be signing autographs before the show from 2 to 5 p.m. at Appalachian Outdoors, 324 W. College Ave.
Seth Morrison, Dean Cummings, J.F. Cusson, Shane Anderson, Skogen Sprang, Vinnie Dorion, Philou Poirier, Josh Loubek, Wendey Fisher, Even Raps and J.T. Holmes are the superstar skiers scheduled to be at the autograph session. Fans will also be given the opportunity to mingle with the skiers at the session.
Seth Morrison, one of the many up-and-coming stars, is considered the Crown Price of the freeride generation due to his impeccable footwork, uncanny balance and willingness to blast down what many consider the unskiable.
The day's events are part of the Freeze East Coast Movie Tour, which was originated last year and will be coming to State College for the first time. This is also the first tour of its kind to appear anywhere in Central Pennsylvania.
"Ski Movie is filled with today's best athletes in skiing, unbelievable sick snowmobiling footage, beautiful locations and liver-splitting humor," according to a press release.
The movie, a Matchstick Production also features music from Methods of Mayhem, Cotton Mouth Kings, Filibuster, Anthrax and Nashville Pussy.
Ski Movie is filmed at Whistler, Chamonix and Mount Baker, WA. The highlights include unusual stunts, blazing speeds and all-out stupidity by the athletes, with the constant intention of keeping the audience entertained.
Poor Boyz Productions' The Game is another smash-mouth ski flick packed with crazy stunts, outlandish humor and a soundtrack that by itself is worth the price of admission.
The Game has an edgy concept intended to shake up the world of ski movies. The film takes the audience on an intense ride with the world's best freeskiers from locations around the globe. The skiers in this film are battling for new school supremacy in the realm of extreme ski trickery and thousands in cash.
Redman and Method Man, Mos Def, Cypress Hill, Social Distortion and Prodigy set the stage for the dare-devils-on-skies with their hip hop beats and crowd inducing lyrics.
Doors open at 4 p.m. for the all-ages show and the movie will be shown from 5 to 6:30 p.m. The 21 and over show is from 8 to 9:30 p.m. with doors opening at 7 p.m. Following the movie presentations Burnt Sienna will be performing.
Admission for the movies and band is $5.
