Penn State Police Services arrested two students this week in connection with the throwing of large rocks off the top of an eight-story residence hall early last Friday.

A state house bill mandating the installation of sprinkler systems in all college housing facilities was passed to prevent loss of life, Rep. Lynn B. Herman (R-Centre) said at a dinner given by a local fraternity last night.

Gear up, bargain hunters. State College's first Target store, 315 Lowes Blvd., is scheduled to open its doors Sunday.

Gina Cancelliere, who was hit by a drunk driver Dec. 1 when crossing North Atherton Street, was one resident who emotionally protested the lack of DUI checkpoints at College Township Council's meeting last night.

Aspiring poet Sassy Ross is drawing some attention at a window seat in Panera Bread, 148 S. Allen St.
