Bush's stance on RU-486 during debate misleading

As I was watching the debates Tuesday, I was appalled by what I saw. What I saw was Gov. George W. Bush deliberately misleading the citizens of America with how he felt about the approval of RU-486. At a time when we should all be applauding this victory for the rights of women everywhere, Bush felt is was necessary to completely avoid the issue, even though he has made it clear that he is against RU-486 and abortion in general.

He says that he would not apply a litmus test to his choices for the Supreme Court, but we must examine who he wants to put onto the court. He says that he would appoint judges in the mold of Scalia and Thomas, two justices that have repeatedly voiced the opinion that they would overturn Roe vs. Wade.

Yet, during the debate, he refused to admit that he is vehemently anti-abortion. The United States cannot afford to elect a president who would systematically destroy any and all choices that women have in regards to their own bodies. If we elect a president who would do that, are any of our rights safe?

I urge all of you to register to vote and on November 7th, to put a vote in the ballot box for the Gore/Lieberman ticket. A vote for Gore is a vote for choice and prosperity.
