Would you be interested in reading a novel about the afterlife?
If so, you might want to check out Almost Heaven: Lost In The Afterlife, the first novel from author Jim Polivka.
Polivka, a Penn State graduate, tries to capture the readers' interest with the main character Danny Stiles' quest to find the meaning of life in death after he lost his way in life.
While he is still alive, severe depression, suicidal intentions and paranoia haunt Stiles. He believes he is a serial killer responsible for several recent murders. Stiles decides to flee the country to rid himself of his problems. Stiles' plans take a turn for the worse when his airplane suddenly explodes into a fireball upon take-off.
The rest of the novel focuses on Stiles striving to defy fate and return to his wife and child he regrettably abandoned. In the process, Stiles falls in love with another woman in the afterlife who tries to break through his bitterness.
If you want to read a psychological thriller that deals with conflicting forces of good and evil, love and hate, and the difference between happiness and despair you should pick up this book.
