Burglary: A stereo was stolen from a van parked in a garage on the 1100 block of Smithfield Street early yesterday morning, according to the State College Police Department. Two purses and a leather bag were also taken from inside the home. The residents were home at the time of the theft.
Other homes in the area also showed signs of attempted entry, State College police said.

Theft: A CD player was stolen from a car parked on East College Avenue overnight Sunday, according to the State College police. The CD player is valued at $800.

Theft: A former Penn State student reported the theft of his bike from a rack outside of Snyder Hall sometime between 3 p.m. on Sept. 21 and 11 a.m. Sept. 22 to Penn State Police Services. The bike is valued at $580.

Simple Assault/Terroristic Threats: At 1:30 a.m. Saturday a Penn State student reported to Penn State police that she had been assaulted at a party in Nittany Hall. The suspect was identified, and charges are pending.

Trespass/Criminal Mischief: At 3 a.m. Saturday a student reported an unauthorized person was operating construction equipment at the Hintz Family Alumni Center construction site. Penn State Police issued Penn State student Matthew Say a citation and released him.

Theft: A Penn State staff member reported someone had entered two rooms in South Chambers Building and removed several computer system components.
Penn State Police reported the incident occurred between 7:30 p.m. Saturday and 2 a.m. yesterday. The value of the loss is estimated at $7,825.
