After a recent visit to Moscow to plead the case of State College resident and accused spy Edmond Pope, Rep. John Peterson (R-Pa.) urged President Clinton to resolve the matter.
Throughout the Pope case, Peterson has expressed concern for Pope's health. In a letter to Clinton, Peterson outlined Pope's condition and expressed the need for proper medical attention, suggesting Clinton address the issue during his meetings with Russian president Vladimir Putin next week in New York.
"It is imperative that you resolve this matter during your meetings with President Putin next week. I am confident that there is no chance for a legal resolution, therefore a political solution between you and President Putin is our only option," Peterson said in his letter.
