Lady Lions make Olympic splash at trials

The Penn State women's swimming team was well represented at the recent U.S. Olympic Trials in Indianapolis. Incoming freshman Kristen Woodring led the way for the Nittany Lions with a fifth-place finish in the 100-meter breaststroke in a time of 1:09:37. Woodring's time at the trials ranks 15th overall in the world this year.

Fellow incoming freshman Corrie Clark registered the 63rd-fastest time in the world this year at 1:11.11 in the 100-meter breaststroke, good for an 11th place showing at the trials. Senior Katie Anderson swam a time of 2:16.13, placing 21st at the trials in the 200-meter butterfly.

A total of 15 members of the Penn State women's swim squad qualified for the U.S. Olympic Trials.
