Today's University Park forecast
sunAs high pressure passes to our south, Happy Valley will experience more humid summer-like conditions. Scattered afternoon showers and thunderstorms will be likely this weekend as a storm system approaches from the west. Another storm system will move in behind this one, keeping a chance of showers and thunderstorms in the forecast for the start of the work week.

Highlight


Continued hot and dry conditions in the Western U.S. are causing problems for firefighters trying to extinguish a number of wildfires burning in 11 different states. Idaho has been the hardest hit state with eight fires, the largest of which has scorched 51,700 acres in the Salmon-Challis National Forest and is only 30 percent contained. Hot, dry conditions are expected to persist for the next few days.
