Highlight
Continued hot and dry conditions in the Western U.S.
are causing problems for firefighters trying to
extinguish a number of wildfires burning in 11 different
states. Idaho has been the hardest hit state with eight
fires, the largest of which has scorched 51,700 acres in
the Salmon-Challis National Forest and is only 30 percent
contained. Hot, dry conditions are expected to persist
for the next few days.
