The Office of the Physical Plant is taking advantage of the summer's smaller student population to continue and complete a total of 133 construction and renovation projects on campus.

The State College Police Department arrested three suspects Tuesday in connection with two home invasion robberies that occurred in the borough, according to a press release from State College police.

SPORTS

If Wednesday's 2000 NBA Draft in Minneapolis had allowed for a few more players, Jarrett Stephens might have gotten the telephone call he was waiting for.


The Penn State women's softball team wrapped up its storybook season with a 3-1 loss to Coastal Carolina in the semifinals of the Region 5 Championship.

John Schaeffer and Darren Goldwater are somehow managing to find something to talk about on their sports broadcast for WKPS-FM (90.7). The program airs from noon to 1 p.m. on weekdays, except for Tuesdays.

Nittany Lions seniors Justin Kurpeikis and Kareem McKenzie have been selected to the preseason All-American teams.

Former Penn State Associate Sports Information Director Mary Jo Haverbeck became the first woman to receive the Arch Ward Award Wednesday from the College Sports Information Directors Association of America.

Penn State Director of Athletics Tim Curley has been named to the NCAA Div. I Championships Competition Cabinet.

The Penn State athletics department will officially move its website to www.GoPSUsports.com on July 1.
