    Hunter wins national championship
    Jeremy Hunter finally found vindication in St. Louis. The senior Penn State wrestler entered the 2000 NCAA Wrestling Championships in search of wrestling immortality and erasing the memory of a devastating loss last season.

    Volleyball team loses two more
    The losing streak continues. The Penn State men's volleyball team dropped both of its matches this weekend in the IPFW Spring Fling, losing to No. 10 Indiana-Purdue Fort Wayne (IPFW), the host-squad, in three games (15-9, 15-11, 15-7) on Saturday afternoon and to No. 12 Ball State (15-11, 15-5, 15-12) on Friday evening.

    Joe Crispin stepped out of a jeep and walked toward Willard Building alone. No one stood around the Penn State point guard Thursday as he walked to his class the day after helping the Nittany Lions go one step further.

    Penn State beats Auburn in second round matchup
    In terms of big-time second-round matchups, Penn State and Auburn gave The Bryce Jordan Center crowd all it could handle yesterday afternoon as the No. 2-seeded Penn State women's basketball team defeated the Tigers, 75-69.

    At first, it seemed as though Fox Sports Net was telecasting a Seattle underground rave party, mysteriously located in State College. The Iowa women's gymnastics team took to its floor routine and blasted away to some funky beats.

    For the men and women of the Penn State crew team, spring break meant travelling to Camp Bob Cooper in Summerton, S.C., in what has become an annual tradition during the team's five-year existence.

    As she has done for much of her career in a Penn State women's basketball uniform, senior point guard Helen Darling has proven she can play about a foot taller than her 5-foot-7 stature might indicate.

    Swimmers compete at NCAA championships
    A trio of Penn State women's swimmers traveled to Indianapolis, Ind., this past weekend to compete in the 2000 NCAA Championships, competing in the 100-meter and 200-meter backstroke events.
