Results released recently from a fall 1999 survey of 364,546 students from more than 600 colleges and universities supplied researchers with some of the most unexpected statistics in the study's 34-year history.

Bill would legalize medical marijuana
Maryland Delegate Donald Murphy (R-Catonsville) introduced a medical marijuana bill (House Bill 308) in late January in the Maryland House of Delegates. If passed, the bill would decriminalize the medical use of marijuana with doctors' approval.

Teatro Lirico D'Europa to perform classic opera today
Classic opera hits State College as the Teatro Lirico D'Europa performs today. The opera touring company, the largest and most successful in Latin Europe, will present its version of Turandot, Giacomo Puccini's famed opera at 8 p.m. today at Eisenhower Auditorium.
