Robert Clifford Burge, the bus driver who died in the traffic accident on Interstate 80, was concerned about his passengers.
Burge did everything he could to make passengers feel comfortable, said Gary Dull, a bus driver with Blue & White Lines Inc. of Altoona.
"When the accident occurred, he was still alive," Dull said. "When another bus driver tried to help him, he said, 'Don't worry about me, I'll be OK. Take care of the other people.' "
Sharon Bream, secretary-treasurer for Blue & White Lines Inc., said the company's phones have been ringing off the hook with people expressing concern for his family.
"We've had calls of customers of ours wanting to send cards to his wife because they enjoyed him so much," Bream said.
Burge had been a bus driver with Blue & White Lines Inc. since April. Until last year, Burge was a minister for Riggles Gap Bible Church in Altoona. Burge drove a bus for the church while he was a minister there as well.
Burge is survived by his wife, Patricia A. Burge, four sisters, three stepbrothers and a stepsister.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. tomorrow at the Dry Run Gospel Tabernacle in Duncansville.
