USG ballots changed

Twelve hours before the polls were set to open, the Undergraduate Student Government Senate eliminated the Centre Halls Senate seat and added one more South Halls seat to the ballot.

Previously, South and Centre Halls areas were each represented by one senator and Pollock Halls had two Senate seats.

In today's USG elections, Simmons and McElwain Halls will vote for South Halls senators and Hartranft and Mifflin Halls will vote for Pollock senators, said Megan Turnbull, South Halls senator.

The representation change came after a decision by the Office of Residence Life to split Centre Halls between Pollock and South Halls earlier this semester.

Because South Halls is doubling in size with the change, the additional Senate seat was added for apportionment reasons, Turnbull said.
