Man charged with stealing vehicle, aggravated assault
POTTER TOWNSHIP -- A 23-year-old man was charged yesterday with robbery of a vehicle, aggravated assault and driving under the influence, the State College Police Department said. The man allegedly rolled his truck over on state Route 45 east at the U.S. Route 322 bypass early Sunday morning. Another individual, who was driving by, parked his vehicle near the accident and approached the man to assist him. At that point, the man involved in the accident allegedly assaulted the individual and stole his truck. He then drove the stolen truck into Potter Township, where he allegedly attempted to steal another truck from Valley Equipment. Rockview State Police found the man at Valley Equipment, where they arrested him. The individual who stopped to help the man suffered minor injuries.
