Trackwomen to vie for Raleigh Relay title
The Penn State women's track and field team will compete in the Raleigh Relays at 11:00 a.m. tomorrow at North Carolina State's Paul Derr Track. This meet marks the beginning of the Lady Lions' outdoor season and provides a chance for individuals to begin qualifying for the national meet. Team scores will not be tallied, so the focus will be on individual performances. "This is a good starting point for the season," senior distance runner Cara Madzy said. "Everyone is psyched about getting to warmer weather." Several top schools will be in attendance, including North Carolina, the current defending ACC indoor champion. Thirty athletes will represent the Lions, but coach Teri Jordan will be absent from the competition. She is currently coaching the U.S. World Championship cross country team in Belfast, Ireland. -- by Gwenn Miller
