Preliminary hearing
BELLEFONTE -- Bellefonte resident John Henry Long Jr., 20, was bound over for trial yesterday on felony charges of burglary, criminal trespass, rape and sexual assault, according to court documents. The charges stem from an incident last week in which Long allegedly entered a woman's residence in the middle of the night. The resident said she heard someone pounding on her door but did not answer, according to the documents. Long allegedly went over to the resident's bed and began to kiss her. The woman asked Long to stop and said she could smell alcohol on him. Long then allegedly said, "Come on," and put his hands on her breasts and between her legs over her clothing. The woman continued to protest verbally and physically, at which point Long allegedly covered her mouth with his hand. The defendant allegedly pulled out his penis and asked her touch it and take her clothes off, both of which she refused to do. The victim said Long became more demanding, so she removed her pants and underwear. Long then crawled on top of her and began to engage in sexual intercourse with the victim, according to the documents.
