PSU to implement conduct code
In response to student protests across the country and a threat to the university's reputation, Penn State President Graham Spanier plans today to announce a code of conduct Penn State has adopted to ensure products bearing the Penn State name are not produced by sweatshop labor.

University considers stopping Loop fare
Talks are underway between Penn State and Centre Area Transportation Authority to implement a plan that would eliminate the fare on Loop buses.

    After allowing a season-high 16 runs in a 16-10 loss to William & Mary Saturday, the Penn State baseball team rebounded yesterday to sweep a pair of games from the Tribe, 5-1 and 7-2, in the first-ever games at newly-constructed Plumeri Park in Williamsburg, Va.

    Champions ... again
    Penn State won the NCAA Fencing National Championship yesterday for an unprecedented fifth straight year -- its seventh crown in the '90s. The Nittany Lions (171 points) finished ahead of Notre Dame (139) in the four-day event held at Brandeis in Waltham, Mass.

    Lady laxers face tough weekend in Virginia
    The Penn State women's lacrosse team had a rocky weekend of competition, as it split two contests in Virginia.

    Spikers bury three teams with sweeps
    The No. 11 Nittany Lions (14-10, 7-0 Tait) opened the weekend with a huge win over George Mason, sweeping the Patriots, 15-10, 16-14, 15-4. Saturday the Lions swept Eastern Mennonite, 15-7, 15-7, 15-6, and followed that yesterday with a 15-3, 15-1, 15-4 victory over Vassar.

    Chances are, the next time Joe Student walks into Taco Bell, he won't see Penn State linebacker LaVar Arrington asking if he'd rather have the steak gordita or the Mexican pizza.

    Laxers scrape by Lehigh
    If the goal scoring of the No. 12 Penn State men's lacrosse team in yesterday's win against Lehigh could be laid out on a seesaw, it would balance out almost perfectly -- light in the middle and heavy on both ends.
