St. Patrick's Day arrests fewer than in past years
The State College Police Department made 23 arrests Wednesday and early yesterday morning in relation to St. Patrick's Day celebrations. Police, however, were not as busy as they were last year during the holiday, Sgt. John Wilson said. Usually the number of incidents that occur depends on what day of the week St. Patrick's Day occurs. "If everyone is back from spring break and it falls on a Friday or Saturday night, things can get pretty wild," he said. More police were on patrol than a normal Wednesday night, Wilson said. The following citations were issued: The number of citations issued was similar to what is given out during a busy weekend, Wilson said.
