Displeased with being the No. 8 seed in the West Region of the NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament, the Penn State women's basketball team knew it would take a Herculean effort to slay the region's mighty top seed, Louisiana Tech, on its home court.

Icers lose in ACHA finals to Iowa State
If there was one focal point of the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) championship game between No. 1 Iowa State and No. 2 Penn State last Saturday at the Fred Rust Arena in Newark, Del., it had to be Penn State goaltender John Sixt's right shoulder.

The Penn State men's tennis team spent a week in Florida, adjusting to the beautiful weather. It was welcomed back to Happy Valley by a snowstorm that canceled one of its two matches.

It was business as usual for the Penn State fencing team at the Mid-Atlantic/South Regional Championships, March 8 at Fairleigh-Dickinson University.

Gymmen place second in Santa Barbara Invitational
The No. 1 Penn State men's gymnastics team was upset March 8 in California at the Santa Barbara Invitational.

Gymwomen take first in four-team meet
The Penn State women's gymnastics team took first place with a score of 195.95 at the Boise State Pavilion March 8.
