Sluggers to play trio of games in Lone Star State

Fresh off a two-game sweep of Duke last weekend, the Penn State baseball team will head to Texas for a two-game series against Notre Dame beginning Saturday at 8 p.m. The Nittany Lions (3-2) take on the Fighting Irish at 2 p.m. Sunday and complete their weekend with a game with Southwest Texas State at 8 p.m. Monday.

The Lions have been paced by a strong pitching staff, which allowed just one earned run in 16 innings against Duke. The Lions' team ERA stands at a miniscule 1.85.

Next weekend, the Lions will compete in the Irish Spring Classic in San Antonio against the Irish, St. Mary's and Creigh
