New Mike's Video business added to the Rite Aid plaza
Mike's Video Inc. will open a new store this summer on South Atherton Street to replace the current Mike's Video South at 1816 S. Atherton St. The new store will be in the new Rite Aid Pharmacy plaza at the intersection of South Atherton Street and Branch Road. The business is changing locations because its current facility is becoming too small, said Julie Stover, manager of the store. The new store will be about 5,500 square feet and will carry new and used compact discs, digital versatile discs and videotapes, Stover said. Currently, the store only carries VHS videotapes. "With our entry into music, we needed more space and parking. As the area expands, we will continue to look for convenient locations to serve those new markets," said Mike Negra, president and co-founder of Mike's Video Inc., in a press release. Until the new store's opening, estimated for early July, the old store will stay open, according to the release.
