Summit to emphasize women's togetherness

Women of all colors coming together for fellowship and promotion of personal growth will be the highlight of the 3rd annual Women of Color Summit.

This year the summit will be held from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday in the Paul Robeson Cultural Center.

The summit, themed "Sisters: Loving Ourselves and Loving Each Other," is sponsored by Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc

The event is a vehicle for the empowerment of female Penn State students and community members, according to a press release.

"It deals with self-discovery and empowerment," said Deborah Atwater, head of the department of African and African-American Studies.

This conference is co-sponsored by the departments of women's studies and African and African-American studies, the Center for Women Students, Undergraduate Student Government, National Pan-Hellenic Council and the Paul Robeson Cultural Center.
