USG to raffle day with Spanier

The chance to get a behind-the-scenes look at a day in the life of Penn State President Graham Spanier is being raffled off by the Undergraduate Student Government next week.

The winning student will accompany Spanier to work March 2. The tentative agenda for the day includes attending the monthly Faculty Senate meeting and lunch with local company executives, Spanier said in an e-mail.

Tickets will be on sale for $1 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 15 to 19 on the first floor of the HUB, and Feb. 22 to 24 in the USG office, 203 HUB, said Art Spicciati, USG business manager. The drawing will be held Feb. 25.

Proceeds will benefit the Penn State chapter of Coaches vs. Cancer, a national philanthropy supported by basketball coaches, fans and players.

"It's a small step with one student, but it is nice bridging the gap between students and the administration," said USG branch manager Dan Halperin.
