USG expects 2,500 for 'Multicultural Evening'
African dancing, spicy foods and Latino beats will be part of "A Multicultural Evening" at 6 p.m. tomorrow in Rec Hall main gym.
The event is free of charge and organized by the Multicultural Affairs Department of the Undergraduate Student Government and Minorities in Agriculture Natural Resources and Related Sciences, said Ryan Williams, president of MANRRS. A crowd of more than 2,500 is expected at the third annual event.
Samplings of Latino, Asian and African dishes will be served, followed by performances from student organizations, including the Indian Student Association and United Soul Ensemble. Headlining the event will be the professional musical group Afri-Carib, with a mix of Caribbean, African and Latin rhythms, Williams said.
