Jason Betz will not remove his redshirt stigma after conferring with Nittany Lion coach Troy Sunderland for the past week about his status with the team.
Betz, who was deemed as a redshirt in December, is expected to return next year and is a leading candidate to win the starting slot.
The 141 pound position was owned by senior Biff Walizer, but Walizer moved up to 149 pounds because of qualifying difficulties, succeeding All-American Jamarr Billman and Jean Celestin.
True freshman Mark Bost currently holds the 141 pound post, and is struggling with an 0-4 mark.
