Play to rewrite history at Penn State Altoona
Malcolm X and Martin Luther King Jr. stood in different places at the forefront of the civil rights movement in the 1960s, but imagine what could have been if the two had been given the chance to work together before their deaths. The Meeting, which will be performed at 7:30 p.m. today in the Harry E. Slep Student Activity Center at Penn State Altoona, tries to depict what King and Malcolm X may have accomplished. The play looks into the lives and philosophies of King and Malcolm X. The Meeting is part of Penn State Altoona's cultural and performing arts series. The Pin Points Theatre will perform the play, which was written by Jeff Stetson. Free admission is offered for students, faculty and staff with Penn State ID cards. There will be a $3 cost for the general public. --by Kara McConnell
