Eleven pleaded guilty for riot-related charges

BELLEFONTE -- Eleven people pleaded guilty Tuesday to misdemeanor charges stemming from the July riot.

The most common charges included failure to disperse, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. However, for some in the group, pleading guilty was not an easy choice to make.

"(Pleading guilty) was a difficult decision to make, because basically, my client was standing on his front steps and we just didn't think that was a criminal act," said attorney Stephanie Cooper, who represents one of those who pleaded guilty.

All those who pleaded guilty Tuesday will be sentenced March 8.
