Building committee to hear public on use of new space

The State College Municipal Building Committee will hear comments regarding the proposed municipal building and public space needs in the following weeks.

The first meeting will be at 7:45 a.m. tomorrow in Room 205 of the Municipal Building, 118 S. Fraser St. Subsequent meetings will be held during the State College Borough Council work session at noon Friday in the same location and during the council's regular meeting at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 1 in the same location.

A preliminary model of the proposed municipal building and its layout can be seen in the Office of Administration in the Municipal Building.

Council member Elizabeth Goreham has said about 10,000 square feet in the new building will be for public usage, which may include performance arts, exhibits or study areas.
