Heavy rainfall creates cloudy borough water
Some State College Borough Water Authority customers may be receiving cloudy water because of recent heavy rainfall, according to a press release from the water authority.
During the heavy rain, groundwater sank into local wells and entered the water system, said David R. Nevel, authority customer service administrator.
Despite the cloudy appearance, the water has been disinfected and is safe to use, according to the press release. Customers may wish to boil the water at their discretion.
Crews are working to solve the problem and customers whose water is cloudy can notify the water authority. However, Nevel said the problem should be resolved for most today.
