"This is the first time we've had a tri-council induction and we're very excited about it," said Andrea Gaspardino, director of Greek and Community Life. Meghan Walsh, outgoing PHC president, said the past year was an excellent one for PHC, and hopes the future year will be just as productive. "We had tremendous programming and a fabulous rush (last semester)," Walsh said. PHC's new members include Jami Totten as president, Jessica Souder as administrative vice president, Erika London as executive vice president and Jennifer Neilson as vice president of finance. Totten said diversity will be an important goal for the upcoming year and hopes the three greek councils will strive toward the goal in unison. "I think that our diversity and strength can be brought together for an amazing 1999," Totten said. Brad Nestico, outgoing IFC president, inducted Mike Ling as president, John Dalesio as administrative vice president, Dave Britz as executive vice president and Lee Markowitz as vice president of finance. Nestico said he was confident of the incoming officers' abilities to lead IFC. "The leaders I see in this room are some of the most dynamic leaders on this campus," Nestico said. Sabrina Kum stepped down as co-president of NPHC and gave the position to Shawna Riley. Also inducted were Paula Starnes as secretary and treasurer and John Polk as parliamentarian. Kum said NPHC is an important organization at Penn State because it gives African Americans a chance to be a part of the greek system.
