Dave Matthews ticket sale begins for concert
Dave Matthews, of the popular Dave Matthews Band, will play an acoustic show with his guest guitarist Tim Reynolds at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 3 in Eisenhower Auditorium. Since the release of Under the Table and Dreaming, Dave Matthews Band has been on a steady rise to the top of the music world. With the recent albums Crash and Before These Crowded Streets, Dave Matthews and his entourage have become college-music heroes. Matthews' acoustic concert follows the band's recent North American tour. Matthews and Reynolds are playing 25 U.S. shows, all in small venues such as Eisenhower. Reynolds has been on all of the Dave Matthews Band albums and he played on the fall 1998 North American tour. A new album by Matthews and Reynolds debuted yesterday, recorded at a 1996 concert in Iowa. Called Live at Luther College: A Live Acoustic Performance by Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds, it's the second in a series of live concert albums of Dave Matthews Band tracks. Wristbands were distributed yesterday when WGMR-FM (101.1) and WQWK-FM (97.1) announced the location where the wristbands could be picked up. Winning wristband numbers, chosen by lottery, will be announced tonight on the same radio stations, and those in possession of the winning wristband numbers will be able to line up at 9 a.m. tomorrow at Eisenhower to purchase tickets. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. The tickets are $29 for PSU ID holders and $30 for the general public. There is a maximum of two tickets per person. -- by Kathryn Graham
