Police Log

  • Assault: A Penn State student received a head wound early Saturday morning at his apartment on the 300 block of Beaver Avenue when he was struck in the head by a fire alarm box, the State College Police Department said.

    A group of men entered the student's apartment in response to yelling from the balcony. The men pulled the student into the hallway, where he was injured, State College police said.

    The student was treated and released from Centre Community Hospital, police said.

  • Assault: State College police responded to a fight on the 200 block of East College Avenue early Saturday morning in which a group of seven to nine men between the ages of 20 and 23 assaulted a Penn State student, State College police said.

    The student was treated for a broken nose and swollen eye at Centre Community Hospital and released, according to the State College police department.

  • Disorderly Conduct: State College police responded to a fight early yesterday morning on the 800 block of Stratford Drive.

    After dropping off a male passenger, a Handy Delivery taxi driver allegedly began fighting with the driver of a Jeep. As the two men were fighting, the taxi passenger returned to the street and tried to intervene and stop the fight, according to State College police.

    The driver of the Jeep then began fighting with the taxi passenger and bit part of his ear off, according to State College police.

  • Missing Person: Erik Bittel, a 15-year-old white boy, was reported missing from his house on the 1300 block of South Garner Street by his parents Friday night, State College Police Department said.

    Bittel is 6 feet 1 inch tall and weighs 150 pounds. He was last seen at 9:30 a.m. Friday.
