State College man dies in snowmobile accident
A local man died Tuesday night as a result of a snowmobile accident in Boalsburg near Tussey Mountain Ski Area, according to a press release from the State College Police Department. Victor Woskob, 38, of State College was snowmobiling on Bear Meadows Road with his three teenaged sons when he lost control of his vehicle and struck an embankment. Woskob was thrown from the vehicle and hit his head on a rock, according to the release. His sons were on separate vehicles and were not injured. Centre County coroner Scott Sayers pronounced Woskob dead at the scene as a result of a skull fracture. Woskob was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, according to the release. Woskob's sons immediately notified the Tussey Mountain ski lodge. The Tussey Mountain ski patrol, Alpha Community Ambulance Service and the Centre County Hospital Medic Unit responded to the scene, according to the release.
