Danny Glover, Felix Justice to visit at Altoona College

In honor of Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday, Danny Glover and Felix Justice will perform at 7:30 p.m. on Jan. 18 in the Adler Athletic Complex at Penn State Altoona College.

The performance, "An Evening with Langston and Martin," is comprised of Glover reading the poetry of Langston Hughes and Justice performing a rendition of a few of King's speeches, said Zola Griffin, a graduate assistant in the Office of University Relations.

The two actors are part of the Distinguished Speaker Series that has brought people such as Olympic gold medalist Janet Evans and actor William B. Davis of "The X-Files" to the halls of Altoona.

This particular event will be co-sponsored by Multicultural Affairs and Student Affairs, Griffin said.

Tickets are available to students and the community free of charge at the Penn State Altoona Bookstore.

"I know a lot of community people will come (to the event)," said Linda Kitt, staff assistant in the Student Affairs Office.

Altoona will dedicate an entire week to King, including a Soul Food Festival on Jan. 19 and a candlelight Unity Circle on Jan. 21.
