Alanis, Garbage to play at the Jordan Center
It's time for the region's Alanis fans to get strangely excited. The diva of the angst-ridden female rock scene, Alanis Morissette, will perform at 8 p.m. Feb. 16 at The Bryce Jordan Center, along with the techno-rock group Garbage. The concert date is not Feb. 21, as reported in Monday's The Daily Collegian. Morissette will be promoting her new album Supposed FormerInfatuation Junkie, the follow-up to her Grammy-winning album Jagged Little Pill. Garbage's latest album, Version 2.0, received critical acclaim and a Grammy nomination for Best Rock Album. However, Version 2.0, unlike Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie, has not had much success on the Billboard charts. After nine weeks on the Billboard 200 chart, Morissette's album holds the 29th spot. Her first single from the album, "Thank U," is at No. 42 after 16 weeks. The video for the single, in which Morissette appears naked, is still in heavy rotation on MTV. Morissette tickets go on sale 10 a.m. Saturday at the Jordan Center box office, Uni-Mart ticket outlets, Eisenhower Auditorium and by calling the Jordan Center at (814) 865-5555. | ||||
| CORRECTION: When originally published this article incorrectly stated that the first 500 students could buy tickets for $20 each. Only 500 tickets are available at the discounted price. |
Tickets are $28.50 and $35, but the first 500 tickets purchased by students with a Penn State ID will be $20 each. There is a two ticket limit on the special price. This special price is only available at the Jordan Center box office, not at other locations or over the phone.
