Dave Matthews, Alanis, Rod to play PSU
While the rest of the Dave Matthews Band takes a break from touring, the funk-rock group’s frontman will team up with guitar buddy Tim Reynolds for a two-month acoustic tour in January and February. The tour, booked at smaller, more intimate venues, will stop Feb. 3 at Eisenhower Auditorium, according to the University Concert Committee. The Dave Matthews Band World Wide Web site (www.dmband.com/tourdates.asp) reports tickets go on sale Jan. 21, but official ticket information will be posted on the UCC Web site at www.clubs.psu.edu/ucc. If the recent radio saturation of Alanis Morissette's wailing hasn't turned you off, you can catch her Feb. 21 at The Bryce Jordan Center, touring in support of the recently released Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie. According to Pollstar's tour database and Morissette's Maverick Records Web site at
www.alanismorissette.com , the diva will be appearing with techno-rockers Garbage. The center has yet to announce Morissette's show. Finally, aging crooner Rod Stewart will return Feb. 28 to the Jordan Center, according to Stewart's Web site (
www.rodstewartlive.com ) and Pollstar. Stewart played the center last February to a mostly middle-aged crowd. The center has yet to announce Stewart's appearance.
