Spikers get experience from Blue-White game
The Penn State men's volleyball team ended its preseason in good form Friday when the team held its fourth Blue-White game. The Blue squad, consisting of the team's upperclassmen, powered its way to a convincing win in just three games (15-6, 15-10, 17-15). Coach Mark Pavlik was pleased by the team's final performance of the preseason, and was optimistic when he looked ahead to the upcoming season. "We've made productive strides in serving," said Pavlik, "You have to score on your serve." Although the team had its share of service errors, both Blue and White teams effectively utilized powerful jump serves. Senior Sergio Pampena, who was very confident, said, "We're definitely going into the season with a good attitude. After playing the teams we did (in the preseason), we're going in with a lot of confidence." -- by Tony Mauer
