Student charged with assault
An 18-year-old University student was arrested Friday in connection
with a March 29 assault, University Police Services said.
Louis S. Ferrie of Snyder Hall was arraigned on charges of aggravated
assault, simple assault and recklessly endangering another person,
University police said.
The alleged assault occurred early on March 29 outside Frear Building.
Ferrie was placed in Centre County Prison in lieu of $30,000 bail.
University police could not comment yesterday on whether Ferrie's
alleged assault was related to two other assaults that occurred
the same morning.
Five University students were assaulted that morning in two separate
incidents. University police did not know whether these two assaults
were related.
One assault occurred at about 1 a.m. March 29 near Weaver Building.
The other occurred at about 3:40 a.m. near the Penn State Bookstore.
